Running, Sweating, and Climbing to Success

Picture not mine. All credit goes to Nike Women. Retrieved from: http://nikesportsbra.tumblr.com/

I tend to enjoy beginning my days propped up in my bed, with a decadent bowl of oats in hand, while surfing the good ole’ World Wide Web. It is oddly a relaxation period that I quite thoroughly enjoy; I can catch up on the news of the world, while simultaneously drown in the deliciousness that is my strawberry and banana peanut butter breakfast. Upon indulging in this regular routine today, I came across an article that I found quite intriguing. The first two words of the title were all that it took to essentially hook me: “Athletic Women.” As if that weren’t enough to catch this gym rat’s attention, the title, when read completely as intended, stated: “Athletic Women Are Literally Running to the Top of the Business World.” That confirmed it; this article was a definite must-read.

Soup Anyone?

Hello Lovelies!

I would love to begin with an overtly enthusiastic exclamation: Fall has finally arrived!

Now to carry on, since it had to be said, I would like to clarify that although I do love Fall, this post will not have much relevance to the season itself, except for the fact that when I think of Fall, I think of soup. Am I alone in this?

Perhaps it is something about the air becoming a little cooler, the wind becoming a little crisper, the days becoming a little shorter. Falling into fall (yes pun was indeed intended) becomes an even lovelier descent when I remember all the foods that I associate with the season. From apples, to pumpkins, to cinnamon to well...soup.

Which brings this incredible (and long)  introduction to a close, in which I come to the point of this blog post: my introduction to you, of one of my favorite soups of all time! ( Which also so happens to be one of my favorite meals period.)

Split Pea and Carrot Puré!

So creamy, so smooth, and oh so warm; the perfect treat-in-a bowl luxury for those cuddling on the couch watching movies on a crisp Fall kinda day. Here is what you will  need:

Favorite Plant-Based Proteins!

Hello there!

One of my favorite past times is spending countless of my well wasted hours scrolling through endless feeds of foodie instagrams. To be quite honest, I think it can turn into quite an obsession; one that I am sure to share with many! I love exploring new ways of providing nutrition for our bodies, and finding inspiration to maintain my healthy eating lifestyle. I have noticed that we all eat differently; no one is ever obliged to eat a certain way, especially to achieve their (fitness) goals. Just with exercise, our food consumption, and what we consume, is a learning process. It is important to remember that what works for some, may not necessarily work for others, both on a physical and psychological sense. It is all trial and error; as long as the intent to maintain a nutritious whole food eating habit is there, than it becomes up to the individual to decide how they incorporate this within their lifestyle.
